Trina wasn’t sure what to do. She’d agonized over the decision. She’d prayed for guidance. She’d studied the Bible for the answer, but still, she feared not making the right decision.
Was she supposed to take the job? Or stay where she was at? Was this an opportunity, a blessing? One that was meant for her? Or, would the new job simply be a burden? She just wasn’t sure!
One verse seemed to jump out at her from Proverbs “Where no wise guidance is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety” . Did she really need more guidance? Her friends and family had already encouraged her to take the job. If wise guidance was what she was to base her decision on, then she’d certainly take the job after all the urgings that she’d had.
Perhaps this was the answer she sought. She would rely on the counsel of her friends and family and make the leap of faith.
Have you ever found yourself in this situation? Are you facing an important decision that you have to make? God will direct your steps. He will speak to you through His Word and the people that He has placed in your life.
Believe that God wants what is best for you, and find safety in your circle of advisors. Of course, this does not mean that you have to act on all advice given to you! Let the Holy Spirit guide your way, always seeking to be in agreement with God’s Word, and your path will be guided by Him.
“Where no wise guidance is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14).
